Innovation Champions
Innovation doesn’t end with the sprint—it begins there. But keeping the momentum and energy of the sprint going after it ends can be a challenge. The day-to-day mindsets and approaches creep back in, and ideas can stall.
The solution: Innovation Champions.
What Is A Champion?
We train facilitators with innovation as a career development goal. They are adept at the mindsets and tools that build momentum and drive projects forward. They help teams prioritize learning, build evidence, and decide when to double down, kill, or pivot an idea using these tools:
-
Risky Assumption Mapping
-
Quick and Scrappy Build, Test, Learn
-
Cycle Coaching
-
Growth Mindset Coaching
Why We Know It Works
The Innovation team at Schreiber was faced with an operations challenge, which led to a sprint. Coming out of this sprint effort, we leveraged a Champion to lead the charge. Together, they instilled the right mindsets, built scrappy test-and-learn experiments, and gathered compelling evidence to pitch the solution to leadership.
The team facilitated rapid prototyping with local vendors, supported testing of custom-designed covers, and helped navigate implementation across multiple equipment types and plant locations. Their structured approach and post-sprint follow-through ensured the idea didn’t fade—it scaled.
Today, this solution is being requested by Schreiber plants across the country and in Mexico. It’s a powerful example of how Innovation can catalyze momentum, solve real problems, and deliver measurable value to the business.
